The Soul of Africa Football Initiative

Many African school children cannot afford the price of quality footballs and are therefore forced to play with bundles of rags, newspaper and plastic. With this initiative, the children have the opportunity to maintain their childhood and play in a safe and socially conscious manner. Along with Soul of Africa, you can help change the way a child plays and lives by sponsoring our footballs.

This top quality hand-stitched football made by Soul of Africa is extra abrasion resistant to last longer on the rough African gravel. The African women have been trained to stitch the football in a centre near Durban (South Africa), where the rest of the Soul of Africa operations take place.

All Soul of Africa employees are paid Fair-Trade wages which enable them to feed their families and work with dignity.



THE BALL: Soul of Africa footballs are a 32-panel, hand-stitched leather football, made to FIFA standard, top quality rubber bladder, coated with polyurethane, giving it a highly resistant surface. For companies and other organizations, optional logos can be displayed on two panels subject to customized rate. In addition to this, the balls can carry health awareness messages on AIDS and drug abuse for the children to observe.
