Child Development Care Centres (CDCC)

CDCC has been developed with Rotary offering assistance in the poorest areas. The government does not fund any pre-school program and due to the extreme poverty and pressure AIDS has placed on these communities, a system has developed where a grandmother figure takes care of pre-school children for the day, offering food and care where possible.

Without these informal pre-schools, children are left alone, neglected and often abused. As finance is so limited, often food is not plentiful or nutritious. Rotary are identifying recipients and Soul of Africa are working on building a classroom, supplying educational equipment, fencing, toilets, food, training and assisting with access to healthcare.
